Free Upgrade for Roland MDX-40 3D Milling Machine Users
In appreciation of our MDX-40 customers' continued loyalty and support, we are pleased to provide a substantial upgrade free of charge.
Our 2009 Value-Up Service enables a free upgrade for current MDX-40 customers with several new, exciting MDX-40A features released on June 17, 2009.
After responding to a short online survey, the upgrade kit including a firmware updater and new software can be downloaded to your computer.
It's our way of showing customers our gratitude and our commitment to partnering with educational institutions and businesses everywhere to deliver the ultimate in quality and performance.

Features of the Free Upgrade
1. New ClickMILL Software for Convenient Finishing Processes
Newly developed Roland ClickMILL software enables fast production and easy onscreen modifications. Users can surface materials, add pockets and holes, and round edges - all without accessing their 3D CAD software. It performs simple prototype milling, finishing and fixturing.

2. Updates to VPanel, the On-Screen Operation Panel
VPanel now offers additional functions, allowing you to move the cursor in 8 directions -- vertical, horizontal and oblique -- and to adjust the speed of cursor movements for easier origin setting. It also allows users to adjust milling conditions such as spindle rotation and speed while observing milling status for time and material savings.

3. NC programming language(NC code/G code)
The MDX-40 now supports NC codes (G-code) for both professional and educational applications.
*You can switch between NC codes (G-code) and Roland RML-1 on the VPanel.

4. Your MDX-40 Now Accepts A New, Larger Rotary Axis Unit

You can now install the new rotary axis unit ZCL-40A*. It supports materials up to 270mm long by 120mm in diameter (10.63" long by 4.72" in diameter). This is four times the capacity of the previous model and large enough to mill a 500ml (16.9oz.) PET bottle. Objects can be milled unattended at any angle from 0 to 360 degrees
*The ZCL-40A unit is available as an extra-cost option.
