Because SRP emulates the same processes used to manufacture products, students gain a deeper understanding of product design and production.
MDX SRP machines are cost effective to operate since no special materials are required. As a result, students can explore more ideas and learn through trial and error.
Easy operation allows students to master SRP skills quickly.
Their compact design makes MDX SRP machines easier to install in small work spaces than larger CNC equipment
MDX SRP machines offer safety features that prevent student accidents. |

Roland MDX SRP machines do not require special materials and can easily process readily-available materials such as chemical woods, foam and acrylic. This allows professionals to design prototypes using material that closely matches the substrate of the final product. Materials with the required tensile strength and other characteristics can be milled as well for original one-off parts and small-lot production. The high-performance Roland MDX-540 Series can also mill aluminum and brass. |

The MDX-540 milling machine is equipped with a high-performance digital AC servo motor, the same motor used in larger NC processing machines. The DAC-FFP electronic predictive control system controls the torque and speed for optimum performance, resulting in high-precision, high-speed processing. The MDX-540 also produces a beautiful finish, with clean edges and smooth curved surfaces. This minimizes the need for additional finishing. |

| Roland MDX-540 milling machines come with easy-to-use subtractive RP software designed to get even novice users up and running fast. Featuring an easy-to-follow, dialogue-style setup protocol, the software guides users through simple screens where data such as the form and material to be milled can be entered. This intuitive program makes it easy for anyone to create milling data and comes with a built-in “Hints” feature that proposes solutions and provides additional support as needed. |

| In addition to the larger MDX-540, Roland offers the more affordable MDX-40A, well-suited for first-time users and trial deployments. The MDX-40A includes full-featured CAM software as well. Users that invest in the MDX-40A as an entry-level model can easily upgrade at a later date to the MDX-540 for high-precision milling. |
