Roland Joins MotoGP Racing Circuit as Sign and Outdoor Printing Supplier

Hamamatsu, Japan, May 30, 2005 – Roland DG Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and integrated print/cutters, today announced that it has agreed to become the official sign and outdoor printing supplier for MotoGP's 2005 motorcycle racing season.

Every year, MotoGP's racing season showcases the skill of the world's top motorcycle riders in three categories (MotoGP, 250cc and 125cc) and attracts participation from major motorcycle manufacturers.

As an official MotoGP supplier for the 2005 season, Roland wide format inkjet printer/cutters will be employed to produce a wide variety of event signage and vehicle graphics for the organization's 17 motorcycle races — events that span the globe, are viewed by an average of more than 125,000 spectators per race, and are broadcast to more than 300 million television viewers in 200 countries.

"It is quite an honor to take part in creating the graphics for MotoGP venues and to be involved in the launch of the 2005 season," said M. Tomioka, president of Roland DG Corporation. "MotoGP hosts many of the world's most prestigious motorcycle races, competitions that demand the ultimate in performance from everyone involved. Graphics play an important role in setting the stage for these events, and our unique integrated print/cut technology delivers all the precision, performance and versatility required to add visual excitement to each race. We look forward to a successful 2005 racing season."

Roland's Innovative Inkjet Technology

In the sign, vehicle graphics and graphic arts industries, Roland is widely recognized as a leader in the development of wide format inkjet printers and integrated printer/cutters. The company's integrated print/cut technology is unique in that it facilitates a one-step seamless production cycle for both the high-resolution printing and contour cutting required to produce sophisticated sign and vehicle graphics.

This groundbreaking technology is the basis for a full line of wide-format products including the best-selling VersaCAMM printer/cutter, available in 30-inch and 54-inch models. The company's top-of-the-line printer/cutter, the 54-inch SOLJET SC-545EX, is based on technology that has won numerous industry awards and is used by many of the industry's top sign shops and vehicle graphics professionals. Wide-format print-only solutions include the company's Hi-Fi JET Pro and SOLJET inkjet printers, ranging in size from 54 to 104 inches in width.

In an effort to provide customers with full-featured solutions, Roland bundles each of its inkjet printers and printer/cutters with VersaWorks RIP software. In addition, the company carries a full line of inks and media that have been tested and approved for use with its products.
