Roland DG Launches New EUV-A Ink with Exceptional Flexibility to Expand Creative Possibilities

Hamamatsu, Japan, May 23, 2025 – Roland DG Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters worldwide, is excited to announce new EUV-A Ink which is compatible with its VersaOBJECT MO series UV flatbed printers that enable direct printing on a wide variety of three-dimensional objects with high-definition.

EUV-A ink is a newly developed UV ink with greater flexibility than all previous generations of Roland DG’s UV flatbed printer inks and offers excellent adhesion to acrylic materials. With flexibility of 270% elongation*, it maintains a beautiful finish for a long period without cracking, even on soft and bendable items, such as bags and wallets made of genuine leather and synthetic leather shoes.

Ryugo Nimura, President of Roland DG’s Global Sales and Marketing Division, said, “The MO series was launched as the new standard for benchtop-sized UV flatbed printers capable of achieving the beautiful and high-definition print quality that Roland DG printers are known for, but with higher productivity. Since its release in January 2024, they have proven very popular as a solution for customizing a wide variety of high-value-added items, including rigid signs, phone cases, water bottles, mugs, leather goods and promo items with original decorations.”

New EUV-A inks can also be used for design prototyping and the production of thermoformed products that require higher elasticity. By direct printing on plastic sheets and then thermoforming, it’s possible to produce on-demand prototypes such as packages, automotive interior parts, and electronic device exteriors. This solution allows the decoration of materials such as glass and metals, which are difficult to print on directly, and on items with complex shapes such as curved or uneven surfaces.

In addition, the ink’s excellent adhesion enables printing on acrylic materials without Primer ink. This feature reduces approximately 71% of the printing time compared to the previous model, the LEF2, which allows you to produce more acrylic items, such as store signs, displays, and key chains in a shorter time.

White ink, which is often used as a base coat when producing thermoformed products and printing acrylic materials, achieves high density and opacity. Vivid and accurate color can be achieved without being affected by the color of the material.

Nimura added, “EUV5 ink, the standard ink of the MO series, has received acclaim for its versatility in handling both soft and hard materials. In recent years, UV printers have been used in many industries to decorate products, and quality and functionality suitable for each application and material are required more than ever before. That’s why we have added EUV-A ink to our lineup. We will continue to contribute to our customers’ creativity and business expansion by providing solutions that meet their various needs.”
