Roland DG Releases the Latest VersaWorks 7 Upgrade for Faster, More Beautiful Printing

VersaWorks 7

Hamamatsu, Japan, June 25, 2025 – Roland DG Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters worldwide, is excited to announce the release of the latest version of its VersaWorks 7 RIP software, available from June 20, 2025. The free upgrade improves both quality and productivity by increasing processing speed and adding new print modes for specific models.

Ryugo Nimura, President of Global Sales and Marketing at Roland DG, noted, “VersaWorks 7 software comes standard with Roland DG inkjet printers and is designed to optimize printing and streamline the workflow for the specific printer, ink, and media in use. It provides optimum print quality for users, with enhanced processing capabilities, more intuitive operation, and support for both macOS and Windows OS, while continuing the outstanding capabilities of the previous version.”

While maintaining the extraordinary print quality that has earned awards and high praise from sign and graphics professionals, VersaWorks 7’s RIP processing speed has been improved by up to 3.9 times compared to the previous version. Even large file sizes or complex data with special effects such as transparency and blurring can be output smoothly in high definition, improving users’ productivity and profitability.

New printing modes contain a recently developed dither pattern that enhances the power of the XG-640, XP-640, and ER-641/642 large-format eco-solvent inkjet printers to achieve high-definition printing without graininess. Even 4-color CMYK mode can output beautiful graphics with vivid colors, neutral grays, smooth gradations, and natural skin tones. In addition, stable, high-quality output results can be obtained even in the unlikely event of bi-directional printing misalignment or media lift during printing.

“Since its release in March of 2025, VersaWorks 7 has been used in a wide range of industries, not only by print professionals, but also by many people with no experience in the print business, such as those in retail, interior decoration, and schools,” Nimura said. “We have updated the functionality to meet the diverse needs of our customers and provide the best experience for everyone. We will continue to provide solutions that adapt to the changing times to contribute to our customers’ creativity and business expansion.”

VersaWorks 7 users can update to the latest version directly within the software. Customers with compatible devices who have not yet used VersaWorks 7 can download the latest version for free from Roland DG Connect. For details, please visit here.
