New Ergosoft Roland DG Edition 3 RIP Offers More Efficient, High-Quality Textile Printing

Ergosoft Roland DG Edition 3

Hamamatsu, Japan, March 24, 2020 – Roland DG Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters worldwide, today announced the launch of Ergosoft Roland DG Edition 3, a powerful RIP software for Texart series dye-sublimation inkjet printers. Texart RT-640 and XT-640 customers who are currently using previous versions of the software are eligible to update to the new version free of charge until September 30, 2020.

Headquartered in Switzerland, ErgoSoft AG is widely acknowledged as the premier RIP provider in the textile printing industry. The Ergosoft Roland DG Edition was developed especially for Roland DG Texart series printers and includes a variety of features designed to enhance productivity and quality for textile printing, including high-speed RIP processing and high-density, high-color printing using minimal ink. The Texart series with Ergosoft Roland DG Edition caters to a broad range of textile applications, including sports and fashion apparel, curtains, cushion covers and other interior décor, soft signage such as banners and flags, as well as promotional goods and personalized gifts.

The goal of the newly released Ergosoft Roland DG Edition 3 according to Koji Takahashi, Project Manager at Roland DG Digital Printing Business Division, is making high-quality textile printing more efficient. The updated user interface is more intuitive for a smoother, more productive operation by adding a new ControlCenter that aggregates access icons categorized by major functions, allowing quick access to operation screens, as well as customizable job windows for better visibility and job management and expanded shortcut keys for faster operation.

The functions to quickly reproduce a target color are also improved. A new search function allows users to find a desired color quickly from SwatchBooks by entering a Lab color value. A new Patch Generation function is available for reaching the expected color in a shorter timeframe. A Target Printer Simulation function is also newly developed to help produce the same colors when using multiple printers with different types of ink or printing modes.

"Lifestyles are growing more diverse and unique by the day, and trend cycles are evolving faster and faster," Koji said. "In fast-fashion and other sectors of the textile industry, the goal is to determine when to develop and release appealing new products quickly and at just the right time, while also making sure to deliver the same quality or better. The combination of textile printing capabilities available with the Texart series and Ergosoft Roland DG Edition 3 not only boosts the workflow efficiency for our customers, but also provides the creative tools to give our customers a competitive edge."
