04/14/2017 Dental, Events & Tradeshows
The Roland DG booth was a popular destination at the recent International Dental Show (IDS) in Cologne, Germany, held from March 21st to 25th, 2017. Not only were two innovative new digital dental devices introduced, but it was also the international debut of the new Roland DG subsidiary called “DGSHAPE.”
Held every two years, IDS is the largest dental conference in the world. This year’s event drew 2,305 exhibitors from 59 countries and more than 155,000 international visitors. New dental products introduced by DGSHAPE included the DWX-52DC 5-axis dry mill with automatic disc changer and the DWP-80S 3D printer. The product launches follow the announcement by Roland DG in February that its 3D business, which includes its dental milling and 3D print technologies, would transfer to the newly-established, wholly-owned subsidiary DGSHAPE Corporation as of April 3rd, 2017.
With live demos of two innovative new digital dental devices, 25-plus seminars hosted by 16 internationally-renowned Key Opinion Leaders and a high-energy celebration event with hundreds of guests, the DGSHAPE exhibit was a huge success.
A highlight of IDS 2017 was undoubtedly the launch event which took place at the DGSHAPE booth on Day 3 of the show. Customers, Key Opinion Leaders, partners, dealers and staff all came together to celebrate the launch of DGSHAPE Corporation, which started operation on 3rd April 2017.
Kohei Tanabe, President of DGSHAPE Corporation, remarked on the company’s evolution as a global brand: “I still remember our first presence at IDS in 2011. Our booth position was the same as today but the size of our booth was tiny. Slowly we grew our business until today we are very happy to say that we are a leading global manufacturer of dental milling devices. Now that we are an independent brand, we are going to be even more focused on ensuring our customers’ continued satisfaction.”
