Roland DG Collaborates on The Opening of a new MOLESKINE Store at HARAKADO

Hamamatsu, Japan, April 15, 2024  Roland DG Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters worldwide, is pleased to announce that Roland DG has collaborated with Moleskine Japan on the production of a premium notebook featuring the work of painter and contemporary artist Yukimasa Ida, to be sold exclusively at the MOLESKINE Harajuku store which will open on April 17, 2024 in Tokyu Plaza Harajuku “HARAKADO”.

Tokyu Plaza Harajuku “HARAKADO” is a new commercial facility on the site of Harajuku Central Apartment, a cultural and creative center established in the 1960s where various top creators of the time gathered.

Moleskine Japan decided to open its first directly-managed store in Tokyo at “HARAKADO” because the concept of the facility, which aims to embody and further develop the culture of Harajuku Central Apartment, is in line with the companys brand philosophy that values creators, art, and culture. As one of the projects that will be a fitting tribute to the opening, the store will sell a limited edition of 50 notebooks designed with artwork by Yukimasa Ida, one of Japans leading up-and-coming artists.

For the production of the notebooks, a Roland DG UV printer was selected because of its wide color gamut, highly detailed expression, and ability to print directly on thick notebooks.
The notebook covers were printed with “End of today - 5/23/2023 Bromeliad Flower -,” a selection from one of Yukimasa Idas representative series, “End of today,” which depicts the artists daily life like a diary.

Mr. Yukimasa Ida said, “This is our third time of producing an original notebook with MOLESKINE and Roland DG, following the “Panta Rhei” exhibition held at the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art last year and the customization service at MOLESKINEs store in the Kobe Hankyu Department Store. I’m very happy that more people can enjoy my work by using digital technology.”

Roland DG Corporation will continue to actively promote activities that bring the joy of creation and the excitement to people around the world.
