Roland DGA, Roland DG’s U.S. sales and marketing subsidiary, recently partnered with noted artist, author and Roland user, Bonny Pierce Lhotka to demonstrate how Roland DG machines can aid artists, photographers and multimedia designers in the creative process.

“andMade” is the largest membership-based fashion-oriented makerspace in Japan where people can have fun creating their own clothes with state-of-the-art digital tools. The makerspace recently opened its first “andMade.kitasando” branch in Kitasando, Tokyo.

Roland DG’s Service Engineers (also called "SEs") strive to improve their ability to provide high-quality, standardized maintenance and repair services in order to ensure that customers from all over the world can use Roland DG products with peace of mind. “Knowledge Workers” are tasked with sharing their service knowledge to assist other SEs in improving their skills and knowledge.

Roland DG hosted its Roland Imagination Day in Korea on April 4, 2017 in Seoul and April 13 in Busan. These user events were held with the aim of supplying new solutions using Roland DG products to address current market challenges faced by Korean printing businesses.

iDental Dental Social Assistance (iDental Asistencia Dental Social) is an innovative and expanding dental provider with clinics located in several locations in Spain.

An initiation ceremony was held on April 3, welcoming 12 new employees for FY2017. During the ceremony, President Fujioka offered his greetings and advice to the new employees who will shape the future of Roland DG. “Anything and everything you do is important,” he said. “Maintaining a positive attitude with every task you take on is important if you want to become a professional. I want you to make the most of each of your individual skillsets.”

The Orange County Register has once again named Roland DGA Corporation, Roland DG’s U.S.-based marketing, distribution and sales arm, one of Orange County’s “Top Workplaces.” This marks the seventh time that Orange County’s largest newspaper has recognized Roland DGA as a top workplace within the region.

Roland DG participates in a wide range of activities and events aimed at expanding the potential of digital fabrication in countries around the world. One of the most recent events was FAB12, the 12th annual meeting of the Fab Lab community, held in Shenzhen, China in August this year.

Located near Tokyo’s Ikebukuro Station, one of the busiest railway stations in Japan, BISENDO Ltd. is involved in all aspects of station and in-train advertising from production through to installation. Each day, the company produces all manner of advertising, from the small stickers that you often see inside trains, to large billboards, more than 100㎡ in size.

Today we’d like to take you on a tour of “Discovery House” that was opened in Nairobi, Kenya, earlier this year. Discovery House has been set up as a demo center, where visitors can get a feel for the potential of Roland’s products. There’s some 20 different models available to try with, including wide-format inkjet printers, as well as vinyl cutters, 3D milling machines, 3D printers and engraving machines. Until now, the only way customers in Kenya and other east African countries could get detailed information on products was to check brochures and the website. Now they can actually use the demo models and get a feel for the printed samples available at Discovery House, as well as get more advice from sales staff to help them decide which model might best suit their requirements. Discovery House is located close to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the regional airport in east Africa, which makes it ideal for customers on business from neighboring countries like Tanzania and Uganda to drop by and take a look.

Art Center College of Design, a private college in Pasadena, California renowned for its transportation design program, among other disciplines, has purchased three additional advanced Roland DG MDX series milling machines for use by its students. The college now owns a total of five cutting-edge Roland DG rapid prototyping devices — including four MDX-40A mills and one MDX-540 mill — which play an integral role within the institution's Product Design program.

Lotus F1 Team, in co-operation with Warner Bros. Pictures, has created a new F1 racing machine suitable for a post-apocalyptic future. The new car — the Lotus F1 Team Mad Max Hybrid — was created to coincide with the May 15th launch of the 2015 epic action adventure Mad Max: Fury Road, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures.
