DG DIMENSE Wall Decorations Debut at New Head Office

Recently installed wall decorations, embodying the technological prowess of DIMENSE™, a wallpaper solution brand from Roland DG’s subsidiary, UAB DG DIMENSE, adorn various spaces within our new head office.

DIMENSE™ – simultaneous embossing and digital printing on wallpapers

Following the acquisition of UAB Dimense print, a subsidiary of UAB VEIKA specializing in wallpaper-related products in Lithuania, Roland DG established the new subsidiary, UAB DG DIMENSE, in October 2023.

We curated an exhibit for visitors and employees who come to our newly inaugurated head office on November 1, 2023, featuring spectacular wall decor using DIMENSETM’s digital printing. The exhibit features artwork created through inkjet printing paired with embossing, some decorated solely with embossing and hand-painted for a unique texture.

DIMENSETM’s wallpaper solutions stem from a blend of proprietary inks and environmentally conscious wallpaper materials. For the head office’s displays, we printed on EcodecoTM, a wallpaper made from a special environmentally-friendly polymer compound, using the dedicated Dimensor S printer equipped with unique structural ink (clear) and water-based ink (CMYK). EcodecoTM, a material that foams under specific temperatures, allows simultaneous embossing and color printing due to its unique property of staying flat in areas where structural ink is applied.

Display of Japan’s five largest artworks

In addition to the exhibition space at our new head office’s entrance, we showcased five new pieces in the reception area and in front of the employee entrance. Each removable wall decoration using DIMENSETM wallpaper represents some of Japan’s largest pieces, measuring 2,800 mm x 3,200 mm.

For the exhibit, we carefully selected designs from DIMENSETM’s extensive collection and engaged employees to brainstorm color schemes suitable for the new head office.

The exhibition space displays works expressing rust-like textures through embossing and hand-painting, as well as pieces emphasizing beautiful gradations and textures through color printing and embossing.

Additionally, in front of the reception area, we’ve displayed pieces with embossing and hand-painted details. Visitors can admire works representing the beautiful “Golden Hour” and other pieces expressing “WELCOME” in various languages.
For the artwork near the employee entrance, we combined color printing and embossing to enhance the floral motif’s texture.

Behind the scenes of artwork creation

Some of the exhibited pieces were hand-painted by employees who collaborated after receiving pre-training, resulting in unique, one-of-a-kind works of art. The painting took place during holidays after completing the wallpaper installation on the wall frames. President Tanabe also participated in the process. After layering colors over the base, they achieved a unique texture by wiping the surface.
